Try the terminal before anything else
Find the FOB on the minimap. If you can reach its terminal, hack it: walk up, press hack and hold. It sounds a siren and takes a while, but it costs nothing and hands you everything they built. Doors vs gates: the asymmetry that decides every FOB assault

Pry a door, never a gate
Doors can be pried open; gates cannot. Bring a Halligan bar: $1,100 [S1], no unlock, and it lasts 5,000 durability, where a crowbar is spent after four or five doors. Doors also close on their own after 30 seconds, so a defender who walks through and forgets one gives you a free way in. Gates never close on their own. 3. Doors, gates and prying

Use explosives on gates and vehicles
A gate needs two C4 charges. C4 costs $250 [S1], and the remote detonator $550 [S1] once you have unlocked it at Support 2 for $15,000 [S1]. Until then, use the IED: $300 [S1] with no unlock. An IED plays a four to five second phone animation before it blows, so plant it, back off, then detonate. C4 and IEDs in infantry fights

Now defend against all three
- Guard the terminal: a finished hack hands the attacker everything you built.
- Use gates, not doors, on the routes that matter: gates cannot be pried.
- Close every door behind you; do not count on the 30 second auto-close.
- Build several small FOBs rather than one big one, in case a single IED really is enough.
Full building guidance is in the FOBs and building chapter.
